Minor Programmes

Minor in Astronomy

This programme introduces the fundamental physics underlying celestial objects such as how and why planets orbit the sun, and how stars work. In addition, students will learn how to operate a small telescope, and be exposed to the practice of data collection, interpretation and analysis in the astronomical context.

Minor in Biophysics

This programme aims to educate and train students with the core knowledge of physical sciences to tackle biological problems. Students will learn the fundamentals of biology and physics to prepare them for further studies at an advanced level.

Minor in Medical Physics

This programme introduces the basics of Medical Physics and the constitutional knowledge that is required from Nuclear Physics as well as Biology & Life Science, in order to broaden the knowledge of some of our graduates at the interface of these fields.

Minor in Meteorology and Climate Science

This programme will equip students with essential knowledge in the field of climate change and its impact on all of humankind and the strong consequences for societies and economies.

Minor in Nanoscience

This programme aims to give a comprehensive introduction to the field of nanoscience, and would be suitable not only for students in the sciences and engineering, but also for students from any discipline with an interest in the latest developments in science.

Minor in Physics

This programme comprises courses related to the fundamentals of physics, leading to a basic understanding of an important area of knowledge. It is aimed at engineering and science students for widening their intellectual horizons and preparing them for greater challenges ahead.

Physics in Technology Minor

This programme touches on physics principles in everyday phenomena. It offers a choice of study into climate change, renewable energy for a better world, quantum technologies and the application of physics in the field of medicine.
