Visitors from Nankai University
The Department of Physics warmly welcomed a group of visitors from Nankai University on 9 and 10 Oct. 13 undergraduates accompanied by three staff were here as part of their training in the Nankai Boling Programme, which is similar to the Special Programme in Science (SPS) at the National University of Singapore.
Physics Alumni Sharing Session
Questions were tossed by physics majors from the department who were present at the Physics Alumni Sharing Session organised by the Physics Society. On the spot to address their concerns were five physics alumni who have had their fair share of job experience in the marketplace
48th International Symposium on Multi-particle Dynamics
More than 120 participants from over 26 countries convened at the 48th International Symposium on Multi-particle Dynamics (ISMD) from 3 to 7 September 2018. This international high energy particle physics event was hosted by the National University of Singapore and the Institute of Advanced Studies, and took place at the Nanyang Executive Suite, Nanyang Technological University.
String and M-Theory: The New Geometry of the 21st Century
At the “String and M-Theory: The New Geometry of the 21st Century” conference held from 10 to 14 December 2018, top global theoretical physicists and mathematicians gathered to probe the principles behind a “Theory of Everything”. Hosted by the Institute for Mathematical Sciences, National University of Singapore, the five-day event consisted of introductory lectures, research talks and informal discussions.
