Learning physics has put me through a rigorous training in analytical and abstract thinking. Through such an arduous process, I have developed a myriad of technical skills such as critical thinking and problem-solving abilities as well as personal development in the form of resilience and discipline. I believe that the learning journey with NUS Physics has shaped and prepared me for a multitude of challenges that lie ahead in our ever-changing future.

I am currently a technology analyst with a foreign bank. This is a two-year rotational programme where I will be rotated through various departments of the technology wing of the bank. I will be expected to be adept at programming and be driven to learn given that each stint will be dynamic and fast-paced. Although this role is not directly related to the field of physics, I am confident that the analytical skills and character development from my training in physics will provide me the foundation to learn and acquire the necessary skills.

At the end of the day, I believe strongly in guiding our attitude towards challenges. We have to accept that life is not a bed of roses and hurdles in our lives are ever-present. Only when we can accept that hurdles are but a part of our lives, we will not shy away in trying times and be ready to accept challenges, come what may.
