Accelerator Facility
Our accelerator serves as the source of ion beams for our five advanced beam line facilities. Among these remarkable beam lines, three are globally exclusive innovations, conceived and developed right here at our university. The remaining two are at the forefront of technological advancements in the field.

High-Energy Ions
Located within the Faculty of Science, the accelerator is capable of producing high-energy proton and alpha beams in the MeV range. Our cutting-edge nano-focusing system can achieve a record-breaking 10 nm beam spot size, which is unparalleled worldwide.

IAEA Collaborating Centre
We are also a Collaboration Centre for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), having worked together for several years. We are currently leading a Coordinated Research Project (CRP) on single-cell imaging and irradiation using accelerator-based techniques for applications in radiobiology and cancer treatment.
