Physics enables humanity to comprehend and explore the universe logically. MSc in Physics definitely provides me a chance to go further on this journey of exploration. When I was pursuing my masters’ degree, I joined Prof Valerio’s research group. There I had a great time and benefitted from my interactions with everyone. The group members were all so willing to share their research experience with me. My research area was in quantum information, which is a topic with numerous awe-inspiring phenomena. I was so intrigued by it that I have decided to continue doing research in this field.

Professors at NUS Physics are affable and altruistic. The discussions I had with them helped me understand complicated problems better. The curriculum structures were well-organised. Besides gaining from the excellent lectures delivered by professors, the assignments given greatly improved my understanding of the subject too. This experience has trained my ability to cope with the unknown and to face challenging problems bravely. Also, as an international student, learning how to balance life and study abroad was a valuable lesson I have reaped. I enjoyed especially the relaxing recreational activities organised by the department and my research group which lightened my studying life.

Now that I have graduated, I will continue to pursue a PhD degree under the supervision of Prof Valerio at the Centre for Quantum Technologies. What I have learnt from my masters’ degree will lay a solid foundation for my future research work without doubt. I sincerely wish all graduates from NUS Physics a bright future ahead!
