Focused laser beam created microscopic patterns on human hair canvas. With the process carried out in ambient, the laser path highlights selective oxidised sites for potential chemical sensing application.

Upcycling biological waste for added functionalities with a view towards a more sustainable future is the main driving force behind this project.

Working in the lab to discover new things about the things around us is always amazing because you never know what to expect. Along with meeting many new people and brainstorming hypotheses for what goes on, it was a fantastic experience!
