Top Department Award
Here is one piece of good news as we are overloaded with pandemic-related news and concerns: the Department of Physics won the “Top Department Award” as part of the Faculty of Science Lab Safety Inspection 2021.
This award is in recognition of our department’s commitment to high safety standards as well as low incidences of accidents. This is the result of everyone’s effort and cooperation on safety matters. Special thanks to Prof Sow Chorng Haur (previous Head of Department) for his leading role over the past years in keeping the department’s laboratories safe, and to the department safety committee’s hard work!
Safety Excellence Awards
Over the past year, the Faculty Safety Team conducted a series of routine and unannounced inspections across the laboratories in the faculty, including both research laboratories and core facilities. Based on this inspection scores, awards were also given to 3 research laboratories and 1 core facility in each department.
