Provost Chair Awards 2024

The appointment term is effective from 1 July 2024 for a period of three years.

• Prof Ariando: Prof Ariando’s research focuses on the physics and devices of functional (quantum) materials, with an emphasis on the strongly correlated oxides. He won the Faulty of Science Outstanding Scientist Award in 2022 for his work on quantum interfaces and nickelates-based superconductivity, and continues to publish well in discovering other novel materials and properties.
• Prof José Ignacio Latorre: Prof Latorre works on quantum information and computation. He was conferred the Distinguished Professorship by ST Engineering in 2022 for his “outstanding contributions to the strategic goals of achieving impactful research translation”. He continues to provide key leadership in this area and in Singapore’s overall effort in building up quantum technology research capabilities.
