Specialisation in Astrophysics
This specialisation focuses on Celestial Physics and Cosmology. Typically suitable for students aspiring to be physics teachers, it has also an important component of data analysis.
To be awarded a specialisation in Astrophysics, a student must pass the following courses as part of the major requirements for B.Sc. (Hons.) with a primary major in Physics.
Any 20 units of the following courses:
- PC3261 Classical Mechanics II
- PC3232 Nuclear and Particle Physics
- PC3246 Astrophysics I
- PC3288A Advanced UROPS in Astrophysics
- PC4248 General Relativity
- PC4249 Astrophysics II
- PC4288A Honours Project in Astrophysics (8 units)
Note: only up to 8 units can be double counted with major requirements
